Mental health and insurance

The Mental Health and Insurance Project provides advice about insurance policies and products for Australians with experience of mental illness and their carers. It has been set up by the Mental Health Council of Australia and Beyond Blue. Information is available about different types of insurance, as well as legal issues such as disclosing a mental illness and your right to privacy.

Changes to guardianship system

Changes to guardianship system

Important changes to our guardianship system started 30 November 2020. They include updated guardianship laws and new enduring power of attorney and advance health directive forms.

They will help reduce risks of financial abuse and exploitation for people with impaired capacity by strengthening safeguards in the legislation.

Cultural acknowledgement

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors—our First Nations peoples—give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations towards creating a better Queensland.
